Sana Kazi

In this work, Kazi’s miniaturist’s sensibility is beautifully channelled through unconventional materials like ash and sand, in addition to the more traditional gouache on wasli. Kazi takes something gritty and harsh (ash and sand) and, through sensitive application and a pensive colour palette, transforms these materials into a mysterious and introspective portrait.
